The power tilt operates through a 30-degree arc and provides positive tilt for increased vehicle clearance and negative tilt that aids when you’re hooking up on a slope or road crown.
The power tilt option also includes proximity limiter switches on both the tilt and elevation cylinders to stop the function at a predetermined height. By bumping your remote control switch a second time, you can power past the limiter switch for additional tilt or elevation.

Miller Industries introduced the hit of the 2010 Florida Tow Show in Orlando earlier this month with the debut of the new limited-edition Harley-Davidson LoneStar truck from International, equipped with a Vulcan V-70. Although the sleek-looking wrecker drew plenty of admiring glances and comments, it was Mario, Nic and Darlene Moretto of Mario's Towing in Kelowna, B.C., Canada, who took the truck home.
“We noticed the truck right away,” said Nic Moretto, who helps run the family-oriented towing business with his parents. “You can't miss it. As beautiful as it is, our plan is to put that truck on the road and work it immediately. We'll send it out on big recoveries right away because, after all, the Miller product stands up to the job. It's being driven up right now and we're unveiling it tomorrow, on Wednesday. And after that, as my dad says, 'work it, work it, work it.'“
Currently, several more limited-edition Harley-Davidson LoneStar trucks with Miller's specifications for a towing and recovery unit are on order and will be available with a new Century or Vulcan heavy-duty unit from your local Miller distributor. Miller Industries is proud to present a $4,000 check to the International Towing and Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum during the 2010 Florida Tow Show in Orlando, Florida. Accepting the check on behalf of the museum was the museum's president, Rolfe Johnson.
Miller Industries has been a supporter of the museum, which is located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, since it was dedicated in 1995. Miller's donation also benefits the museum's Survivor Fund, which offers assistance to families of towers who lose loved ones in the line of service. The $4,000 check represents the proceeds from recent Rotator Schools that Miller Industries held for its customers at the museum's learning center and at Miller Industries' Ooltewah, Tennessee, manufacturing facility.
“We at Miller Industries enjoy supporting the International Towing and Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum,” said Miller Industries' John Hawkins. “The museum represents our heritage as towers and we realize the importance of celebrating that heritage. We are fortunate to have the museum located so close to our headquarters and we try to host events like the Rotator School there regularly so our customers can enjoy it as well.”

As a result, Miller Industries will be hosting a number of special events and anniversary celebrations throughout the year, starting with the upcoming 2010 Florida Tow Show in Orlando on April 15-18.
“We at Miller Industries are really looking forward to celebrating our 20th anniversary,” said Vice President of Marketing Randy Olson. “We can't thank our customers enough for their support over the years, but we're sure going to try. We've planned some exciting new events that will take place throughout the year. We don't want to give anything away, but we think that all our customers will be thrilled with what we have planned for Florida, and at many other shows throughout the season leading up to November and the AT Expo in Baltimore.”

Miller Industries will continue their long running relationship as “The Official Towing and Recovery Equipment” of California Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Daytona International Speedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway, Kansas Speedway, Michigan International Speedway, Richmond International Raceway, Talladega SuperSpeedway, Chicagoland Speedway and the addition of Phoenix International Raceway. Randy Olson, Vice President of Marketing for Miller Industries said “We are proud of our affiliation with International Speedway Corporation and look forward to provide these premier motor sport facilities with the finest towing and recovery equipment mounted on new International 4300 chassis, as well as professional trained operators that help deliver a positive image of the towing industry to the general public”.
Although the trucks are staffed by these experienced tow operators from across the country who volunteer their time and services, they must still go through sanctioned training classes that are conducted by Miller Industries Race Director Ken Burdine on the proper techniques and safety procedures on the speedways. Working hand and hand with other emergency personnel on the track is vital for quick clearance to keep these major televised race events moving with safety being the most critical factor. The equipment and operators will cover a wide variety of major races at these tracks that includes NASCAR, Indy Racing League, ARCA, USAC and Grand American sanctioned events.

During TRAA’s February Leadership Conference held in Washington DC, Bill Miller, Co-CEO of Miller Industries, spoke about his vision of a nationwide Towing and Recovery Week to recognize the men and women of towing industry who risk their lives daily to assist the motoring public. These men and women statistically face the same risks of loss of life as fellow rescue professionals - the police and fire fighters - and should receive comparable recognition.
As a beginning effort on the state level, Miller Industries personnel contacted their House Representative, Vince Dean, educating him as to the important public service the towing industry provides. Miller Industries personnel also stressed the industry’s deep roots in the state. Representative Dean, being a retired police officer, was well aware of the dangers towers face and their significant contributions to the motoring public. He felt it fitting that Tennessee honor the men and women of the towing and recovery industry. Representative Dean was the primary sponsor of House Joint Resolution No. 644, co-sponsored by a bi-partisan group that included Representative McCormick and Brown, Senators Marrero, Watson and Crutchfield. The General Assembly agreed.
“We are thankful for Representative Dean’s efforts, and those of the co-sponsors and supporters, and proud of our home state of Tennessee for being the first to designate a week honoring our great industry.” Miller said.
“We as an industry are another step closer to helping achieve recognition for towing professionals.”
Miller Industries encourages an industry wide initiative to get more states to follow suit with a goal of garnering a national Towing and Recovery Week. Efforts are also underway to have the Wall of the Fallen be designated a National Monument. If you would like to become involved or need information on this great effort, feel free to contact Randy Olson at 1-800-292-0330 or via email at rolson@millerind.com.
